Nan is the President of the Board here at The Learning Center of Madisonville. Nan was an accountant before immigrating to the United States. After arriving in the US in 1999, she started her own business and was very fortunate to succeed. As a mother, Nan wanted her children to have the best education, as most parents hope for. This influenced her and helped her develop the idea of a tutoring center in Madisonville. In 2016, The Learning Center of Madisonville was established. It has been a wonderful ride so far!
Adrianna has been tutoring at The Learning Center since March 2016. She primarily tutors in the Barton Reading Program for dyslexic children and adults. Adrianna also has experience tutoring elementary and high school Math. Adrianna is currently a student at Madisonville Community College.
Martha is a tutor in elementary, middle, and high school Math, Reading, Science, and Social Studies and ACT Prep. She also has experience as a Spanish tutor. Martha is a Madisonville native and currently attends Madisonville North Hopkins High School. She is a recent graduate of the Governor’s Scholars Program (NKU Campus) and was a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist. Martha is very interested in other languages, having taken classes in French, Italian, Arabic, and Ukrainian. In her spare time, Martha enjoys crafting, discovering new music, and tap dancing. She is excited to be working at The Learning Center and is eager to work with you!
Savanna has been a college professor at Madisonville Community College since 1998. She has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. Her philosophy to eduction is that every person can learn, it is important that we, as educators, learn how to reach those students. She believes that hands-on learning using multi-sense learning and incorporating a bit of humor will improve students ability to learn. She was one of the founding members of The Learning Center and serves as the Educational Director and Secretary to the Board. She is responsible for curriculum and conducting assessments matching students with tutors for the best learning outcomes. In addition to her roles at MCC and The Learning Center, she is the wife to a high school principal and has 4 children, including a Dyslexic child. She understands parents and students struggles and welcomes meeting with families and prospective students to learn how The Learning Center can best serve the communities educational needs.
McKailah tutors mainly in the Barton Reading Program, but also has experience tutoring in Elementary Reading Comprehension and Math. She is currently a student at Madisonville Community College and also works at Covenant Community Church and Fun4Kidz. She is a huge lover of books, music, and art. In her free time, you can find McKailah reading, drawing in her notebook, or going to concerts. She’s always been a pretty shy person and loves that tutoring has pushed her out of her comfort zone through getting to know her students. She loves being a part of your learning experience!
Kenna has always been interested in education and is eager to help teach children in the subjects they struggle most. Kenna primarily tutors elementary reading and in the Barton Reading Program. She is currently a student at Madisonville North Hopkins High School and plans on attending Freed Hardeman University to major in elementary education. She hopes that she can make an impact on the children that she tutors that will last a lifetime!
Hayleigh has been employed at The Learning Center of Madisonville since October of 2016. She primarily tutors in reading and spelling. Hayleigh is a sophomore and is on track to receive her Associate Degree in the spring of 2019, with plans on continuing on to her Bachelor’s. She has experience tutoring children and adults, many of whom have Dyslexia and some with special needs. Hayleigh has additional experience tutoring in elementary and middle school math and in English as a second language (ESL).
Felicity has been the office manager of The Learning Center since July 2018. She is starting to complete her degree in elementary education to work towards her passion of being around children.
Houston has been tutoring at The Learning Center for a little over a year. He tutors with the Barton Reading Program, Elementary to Pre-Calculus level Math, and special topics (like AP courses) upon request. Houston views working with The Learning Center as a giving every student the opportunity to enjoy learning no matter where they are at in their educational journey. He is currently a senior at Madisonville North Hopkins High School, is currently taking a range of AP and dual-credit courses, on track to graduate as valedictorian, and plans on starting his collegiate career at Madisonville Community College next summer.
